Nelson Lugo, The Charming Trickster, studied acting at the American Musical & Dramatic Academy. Studied better acting at the William Esper Studios under the exacting tutelage of Maggie Flanagan. Learned magic at the ripe old age of nine by reading Harry Blackstone Jr. books. Puppeteered full body puppets for the Jim Henson Co. for two years. Became a storyteller by never winning a Moth Story Slam. Learned showmanship from Harry Anderson and reruns of Night Court. Honed his Hosting/MC skills from watching endless hours of Benny Hill on PBS. Learned everything he knows about the art of sideshow from the Coney Island Wonder Worker himself Todd Robbins. Trained as a clown doctor at the Big Apple Circus Clown Care Program. Created

and produced “Vaudeville Nouveau” that ran for two years. Created and produced “EPIC WIN Burlesque” that ran for four years. Created and produced the very first “International Nerdlesque Festival” that premiered in NYC. Wrote and performed “Gathering The Magic” a solo storytelling show with magic that ran for 73 performances all across the United States and in Denmark. Was selected to be a guest ringmaster for the Big Apple Circus show “Metamorphosis” understudy to John Kennedy Kane. He

is a frequent guest artist on many NYC storytelling stages and his stories can be heard on the Moth, RISK, and Storycollider podcasts. He co-hosts his own monthly podcast on nerdyshow.com called “The EPIC PIEcast”. Lastly, he is a burgeoning vintage music DJ and pie maker.
